Watching Baseball from the Outback.

No, not Austrailian Baseball. There is an Outback restaurant at the
Pirates Field (I don't know what it is really called).

Here is the family too.

Planes SUCK!

I pack one bag, carry on size. But United packs so many people and
luggage on the plane, they make me check my bag! I am flying from the
4th largest city to the 3rd largest city, and United has us crammed into
a plane just this side of using propellers. How much longer until they
start shiping livestock on these flights?

Travelers look so miserable

The airlines need to provide free bev-er-a-ge service to people
waiting. Hell, I am sure we'd all get along much nicer. Nothing like a
little liquid courage to get people friendly.

Off to Pittsburg

Big Family Reunion/Grandmother Birthday/Uncle Retirement thing
happening. So I am sitting at Houston Intercontinental having a
pre-flight beverage (after a couple of these, you must pronounce it
slowly...everyone say it with me 'bev-er-a-ge'). I need it because I
don't arrive at my destination until 11.30 eastern time. Blech.

Should be big plans this weekend. Stay tuned...

It runs in the family

Dad and I had dinner at a salad bar nearby. They have music playing as
most places do. Later when we got home dad sez "I can't get that song
about the eel out of my head."

I said "What song???" "You know, the one that was playing at the
restaurant." I said "The only song I remember was Dean Martin 'That's
Amoré'..."

Sheesh, He thinks he is so funny.

Hope you all enjoyed that.

My Dad

He is such a football nut. We are watching the NFL network today. The
Network is showing classic Broncos plays, and he is rooting and
screaming at the TV. I said "Dad, these are plays you have seen and
know the outcome."

I got no reply. Sheesh.

Hey all.

Well the Calgary deal with Colt Engineering fell through. So no more
talk about that. Just thought I'd mention it.

Since I am playing on the internet...(ok to install ActiveX)

I am going to try something. I have recently discovered some new music, along with some help from my friend Steve. It is categorized as alt.county, or cow punk, or americana. Bands like Lucero, Deadstring Brothers, The Yayhoos, Old 97's, and many others. It is very unique, and doesn't sound like mainstream twangie crap country. So anyways, I am just trying to add a link so anyone wants to click and listen to something I feel like putting up. You are going to have to play it in quicktime, since most of my songs are formatted for iTunes. So here goes.

1. The band is Lucero, the song is "Here at the Starlite". It is from their Tennessee album.

Click the Play Button to hear the song.

2. The band is Old 97's, the song is "Niteclub". It is from their Too Far To Care album.

3. The band is Deadstring Brothers, the song is "Sacred Heart". It is from their Starving Winter Report album.

Finally, an update from me

Well, I know I haven’t updated in a while. It’s just that I haven’t had any good news to report. I had been hoping to tell everyone that I was moving to Calgary, but it has taken so long to hear anything. I had a great interview with one of Colt Engineering’s HR guys, and we left on a very positive note. However, now I can’t seem to get anyone to move on anything. They tell me that they are hiring 20 to 25 people a day, so they are very busy. I have all these “opportunities” right now, but all I keep hearing is “We want you to come work for us, but we are waiting on some bids to come through.” It is like having some girl say, I like you enough, but lets just be friends.

Well, I guess I just have to sit tight a little longer. I read a fortune cookie the other day that read “Faith is largely a matter of patience”. So I guess I will just have to wait and keep chasing opportunities. As I think about this, I realize that this fortune wasn’t really a fortune. Mom and I always noticed that they seem more like words of wisdom than a fortune. I guess then you’d have to call them Wisdom Cookies. But then that wouldn’t work to well because instead of lottery numbers on the back of the fortune/words of wisdom, they would have to write “You No Pray Rottery, Stupid!”

I suppose I have some good news. I have really slimmed down over the past year. All the way down to 160lbs. So I have that going for me.

Sorry I haven’t been active on my blog, I will try harder from now on.
